Little and comfortable two-roomed flat with two levels,
where at the end of 1800 there were the Ca’ der Fre’ (
Forger’s Home) of the Cascina Loreto, now Cascina Penna di
Gallo. The Farmstead is situated in Madonna di Como, about 5
km from Alba.
At
the level ground we enter in the heart of this cosy
apartment, in the pretty kitchen in walnut wood with a
parlour. Here, like in the rest of the Cascina, we find our
family’s symbol, the “Galletto” (Young Cock), that commands
in this place so traditional and rustic.
We climb the open wood and steel stairs and we are at the
second flat that accommodates the bedroom and the bathroom.
The stairs, a combination of modern and ancient materials,
anticipate that the furnishing of this part of the home is
an harmonious whole of tradition and modernity. The exposed
wooden beams and the wood of the ceiling with a mansard
present the friendliness and simplicity of the old things at
the same time, in contrast with the furniture purposely a
bit modern.
